Job summary

Reading Football Club is seeking a proactive Kit & Laundry Assistant for the Academy. You will manage laundry, keep training and match kits in top condition, and support U21 and some U18 activities with kit and equipment needs.

Flexibility to attend all U21 and some U18 matches is essential, alongside maintaining hygiene and safety of kit areas and equipment. Prior kit room experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Commitment to ongoing professional development as organised by Reading Football Club.
• Completion of Safeguarding Training.
• Completion of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion training.
• Desirable prior experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for all Academy laundry, including sheets and towels.
• Support day-to-day training needs including pumping footballs and assisting with sessions.
• Attend all U21 matches and selected U18 matches to provide kit and equipment support.
• Ensure kit and equipment are provided to all Academy age groups and staff promptly.
• Wash, dry, fold and store kits used in training and matches.
• Ensure appropriate kit is available for U21/U18 trialists.
• Liaise with medical and sport science departments to transport kit and equipment between locations.
• Operate laundry equipment and dryers safely according to procedures.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation in kit areas.
• Place kit orders for the start of each new season.
• Support the first team operations when required and undertake other tasks as directed.
