Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Assistant Manager with strong leadership and communication skills to guide their team towards achieving sales and KPI targets while delivering exceptional service.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Store Manager in managing all store operations to meet or exceed sales and KPI targets, setting sales goals, tracking performance, and evolving processes for continuous growth.
  • Create a positive team culture through recruiting, training, and developing staff, building a motivated, high-performing team.
  • Analyze sales data and financial reports to make informed decisions alongside the Store Manager, identifying operational and commercial opportunities.
  • Act as the point of contact in the manager's absence.
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving complaints professionally.
  • Assist in daily operations, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Support cash management tasks, such as processing transactions and reconciling tills.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training new employees.
  • Provide feedback and coaching to improve colleague performance.
  • Support the Store Manager in managing staff schedules to ensure proper coverage and productivity.
Role Objectives and KPIs
  • Contribute to achieving or exceeding the store's monthly sales targets.
  • Drive additional KPIs including Units, Conversion, ATV, UPT.
  • Achieve upselling and cross-selling targets.
  • Maintain a high Net Promoter Score.
  • Ensure stock accuracy during audits.
  • Ensure all new colleagues complete mandatory training.
  • Maintain employee satisfaction and engagement scores.
  • Help keep operational costs within budget.
Skills and Experience
  • Previous supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced retail or customer-facing environment.
  • Passionate about retail with a good understanding of current trends and competitors.
  • Experience in coaching and developing team members.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales and KPI targets.
  • Ability to analyze KPI data for commercial decision-making.
  • Attention to detail and commercial awareness; visual merchandising experience is advantageous.
  • Ability to promote JD Group values to stakeholders.
