Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Assistant Manager with strong leadership and communication skills to guide their team towards achieving sales and KPI targets while delivering exceptional service.
Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager in managing all store operations to meet or exceed sales and KPI targets, setting sales goals, tracking performance, and evolving processes for continuous growth.
- Create a positive team culture through recruiting, training, and developing staff, building a motivated, high-performing team.
- Analyze sales data and financial reports to make informed decisions alongside the Store Manager, identifying operational and commercial opportunities.
- Act as the point of contact in the manager's absence.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving complaints professionally.
- Assist in daily operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Support cash management tasks, such as processing transactions and reconciling tills.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training new employees.
- Provide feedback and coaching to improve colleague performance.
- Support the Store Manager in managing staff schedules to ensure proper coverage and productivity.
Role Objectives and KPIs
- Contribute to achieving or exceeding the store's monthly sales targets.
- Drive additional KPIs including Units, Conversion, ATV, UPT.
- Achieve upselling and cross-selling targets.
- Maintain a high Net Promoter Score.
- Ensure stock accuracy during audits.
- Ensure all new colleagues complete mandatory training.
- Maintain employee satisfaction and engagement scores.
- Help keep operational costs within budget.
Skills and Experience
- Previous supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced retail or customer-facing environment.
- Passionate about retail with a good understanding of current trends and competitors.
- Experience in coaching and developing team members.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proven track record of achieving sales and KPI targets.
- Ability to analyze KPI data for commercial decision-making.
- Attention to detail and commercial awareness; visual merchandising experience is advantageous.
- Ability to promote JD Group values to stakeholders.
