A national heritage organization is hiring a Keykeeper for Kirby Muxloe Castle. The role involves ensuring safe access for visitors and contractors, performing safety checks, and facilitating public access during open hours. Candidates should be self-motivated and ideally reside nearby. Excellent benefits are provided, including free access to heritage sites and generous holiday leave.
Visitors can wander around Kirby Muxloe Castle's picturesque moat and explore its fine gatehouse and complete corner tower.
You will be responsible for providing safe access to the site at agreed times for contractors, English Heritage staff, and volunteers. You will also monitor work and activity where necessary. Additionally, you will open the site to facilitate public access during open hours, including pre-booked activities, tours, school visits, or community events.
The role involves carrying out safety and security checks, recording these checks, and reporting defects and required works on English Heritage systems. You should be able to use your initiative and work with limited or no supervision. Ideally, you will need to live within a reasonable distance of Kirby Muxloe Castle.
Interviews will be held on 23rd October at Kirby Muxloe Castle.
