Job Opportunity: Family Support Worker

Prospero Teaching is recruiting for a Family Support Worker to work in an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Hulme (M15). The school caters to young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health issues, aiming to raise aspirations for students facing these challenges daily.

The environment is safe and supportive, with low staff turnover. Most staff sent by Prospero Teaching are offered permanent contracts after their first 12 weeks!

Role Responsibilities

• Engage with the community by liaising with social workers and family members.
• Support young people in engaging with the curriculum, considering their backgrounds involving drug abuse, family issues, trauma, neglect, or mental health challenges.
• Follow individual education and health care plans for each student.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Background in Social Work or related caring professions.
• Some safeguarding experience, such as working with safeguarding children or adults.
• Transferable skills from teaching, support work, prison work, or similar roles supporting challenging behavior.
• Valid driver’s license and access to own vehicle.

Prospero Teaching offers free Team Teach training every half term to prepare you for this role.
