Job summary

Academics are working with a friendly two-form-entry Primary school in Wandsworth to appoint a KS2 Teaching Assistant from November. The role is full-time, term-time only, on a fixed term contract for 2026/27 with the option to extend for the following year.

The successful candidate will support Year 6 lessons for a child with ASD/ADHD, work with a strong SEN team, and receive training from an experienced SENCO.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children with Special Needs is beneficial.
• Strong English and Maths skills to support Year 6 work.
• Reliable and diligent with a positive attitude to training.

Responsibilities

• Support Year 6 lessons and help keep the pupil on task.
• Collaborate with the SENCO and inclusion team to implement support plans.
• Contribute to in-school SEN training and planning as needed.

Academics are currently working with this very successful 2 form entry Primary school based in Wandsworth to appoint a teaching assistant to join their team from November. The successful candidate will be passionate about working with children and making an impact on their education. You will need to have a high standard of English and Maths to be confident support this child with Year 6 lessons and help him keep on task. The child is very well behaved and enjoys his time at school.

The school has a brilliant SEN department with an experienced SENCO, who will provide training for you to support the child's needs. Previous experience working in a Primary school setting or working with children with Special Needs would be advantageous but not essential. You will however need to be reliable and diligent in your work. It is essential that you are degree qualified (Any subject) or have a Level 3 qualification in childcare or education.

Interviews will be held w/c 12 October with successful Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant starting straight after the October half term on the 2 November.

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.
