GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant (KS1 TA) to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Hull. The successful candidate will support pupils in Key Stage 1, working closely with the class teacher to create a nurturing learning environment and provide tailored academic and emotional support. This is a fantastic opportunity to help pupils thrive and achieve their full potential at a crucial stage in their education.

KS1 Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

1. Support the delivery of engaging and creative lessons for Key Stage 1 pupils.
2. Work with individuals and small groups to provide targeted learning interventions.
3. Assist the class teacher in creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
4. Encourage the development of pupils' literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
5. Promote positive behaviour and help manage classroom routines effectively.
6. Support children with additional needs, adapting activities to suit their requirements.
7. Monitor pupils' progress and provide feedback to the teaching team.
8. Prepare and organise classroom resources and materials.
9. Foster a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning atmosphere.
10. Help with the supervision of pupils during playtimes, trips, and other school activities.

Requirements for a KS1 TA:

1. A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Teaching Assistance or Childcare (e.g. CACHE, NVQ).
2. Previous experience supporting Key Stage 1 pupils in a school environment as a Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant.
3. Strong understanding of early years and KS1 curriculum and child development.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to build positive relationships with young children and staff.
6. Patience, creativity, and a nurturing attitude.
7. An enhanced DBS registered on the update service or the willingness to apply for one.
