The Role

ALS Laboratories are searching for an enthusiastic professional Key Account Manager who can help to ensure we are the testing partner of choice. Your role will engage current customers to continue to work with and grow with ALS.

You will visit and support all ALS laboratories and clients which may include some overnight stays. You will deliver the ALS experience to our clients growing the accounts by maintaining, developing, and forging new alliances. About The Position

Shift: Monday to Friday 08:30 – 17:30

Location: Carlisle

Contract: Full-Time and Permanent

The day to day

  • Develop strong client relationships, including technical, commercial, and executive, coordinating day to day technical support and guidance on the use of our ALS Solutions portal.
  • Support internal colleagues throughout the business to deliver an effective and efficient service level to clients.
  • Liaise with clients to ensure they meet the agreed terms and conditions of engagement.
  • Identify new business opportunities with existing clients.
  • Develop a deep understanding of each client’s unique requirements.
  • Extrapolate data to build detailed price proposals for clients.
  • Proactively engage in sales negotiations for new contracts with the UK Sales Manager.
  • Engage in company initiatives which support our continuous improvement in health, safety, wellbeing, and environment.

The Essentials

  • Previous technical or scientific background is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in the food is desirable.
  • Experience in Client Sales is essential.
  • Excellent communications skills, with an ability to persuade, inform and negotiate.
  • A proficient level of IT competency.
  • Curious and solution focused.
  • Determined and tenacious.
  • Meticulous and methodical in your approach.
  • Willingness and ability to drive and travel to other ALS UK sites.
