Position: Key Account Manager

Reporting to: Head of Sales (Europe)

Role Overview:

The Key Account Manager will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to drive revenue growth and expand market presence. This role focuses on building strong relationships with key organisations, identifying new business opportunities, and strategically managing the sales process to optimise success in competitive bids.

A deep understanding of account timelines, tender processes, and market requirements is essential. The role also requires expert-level product knowledge to ensure high-quality customer interactions, product demonstrations, and installation support. Collaboration with internal teams and leveraging both internal and external expertise are key to delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of assigned accounts, including customer base and market dynamics.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the territory while leveraging product expertise for a competitive edge.
  • Utilise strategic account management tools to drive sales performance and meet revenue targets.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, ensuring long-term business partnerships and effective engagement throughout multi-year tender cycles.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, connecting them with relevant internal and external resources to enhance their experience.
  • Provide expert product knowledge and support at all stages of the sales cycle, including pre- and post-tender activities.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, contributing to sales forecasting, reporting, and business planning.
  • Manage tender processes, including positioning, pricing strategy, and reviewing tender submissions for accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare and manage quotes, contract extensions, and pricing proposals in line with company policies and market strategy.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
  • Identify innovative solutions to enhance customer satisfaction and contribute to overall business success.
  • Ensure all activities comply with relevant regulatory standards, including Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Documentation Practice (GDP).

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in biology, chemistry, lab medicine sciences, or a related field.
  • Proven sales experience in the in-vitro diagnostics (IVD), medical devices, or diagnostics industries.
  • Experience in selling capital equipment and consumables.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic account management, including the ability to influence key decision-makers.
  • Strong track record of winning sales, particularly in competitive environments.
  • Experience selling Autoimmune and/or Allergy products.
  • Background in product support or customer demonstrations within IVD.

Technical & Soft Skills:

  • Strong commercial acumen and financial analysis skills.
  • Experience in tender writing and CRM systems (ideally Salesforce).
  • Understanding of healthcare compliance regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to change, and work under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Confident presentation and negotiation abilities.

Additional Requirements:

  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Danish or Swedish is a plus.
  • Field-based role requiring frequent travel and occasional overnight stays. Some travel across Europe may be required.
