Job Description:

Key Account Manager (Engineering)

The Company

Our client is a global supplier of bespoke, skid-mounted mechanical systems used for the heating, cooling, filtration, and compression of gases and fluids. Their solutions combine engineered products such as heat exchangers, pressure vessels, modular skids, piping systems, and acoustic/filtration units—serving a wide range of applications across transitional and decarbonised energy sectors.

Operating globally with over 800 employees, the business has grown rapidly and continues to expand across the Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Hydrogen, Waste-to-X, and Renewable Heating sectors. As part of their continued growth strategy, they are now looking to strengthen their UK commercial team with the addition of a Key Account Manager.

This is a brilliant opportunity to join a technically advanced, highly respected engineering business with significant growth ambitions and a collaborative, team-oriented culture.

The Role

The company is looking to recruit a Key Account Manager to help support and grow key customer relationships across the UK and Europe. The successful candidate will act as a technical-commercial liaison between clients and internal departments, helping to develop solutions, prepare technical proposals, and manage enquiries through to award.

You will play a key role in servicing existing clients and identifying new opportunities within current accounts, helping to drive growth in strategic sectors such as carbon capture, hydrogen generation, and power grid infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage customer accounts from initial enquiry through to project handover.
  • Interpret technical specifications and develop costed proposals and concept sketches.
  • Produce quotations and commercial documentation to support sales bids.
  • Attend regular meetings with customers (UK and occasionally overseas).
  • Work closely with the engineering and project teams to ensure solution accuracy.
  • Maintain forecasting and CRM activity for assigned accounts.
  • Support existing Gas Turbine and New Build project enquiries.
  • Contribute to cost-reduction initiatives and product improvement strategies.

The Candidate

To be successful in your application for this Key Account Manager role, you will need to have:

  • A minimum of 3 years in a Key Account, Applications, or Technical Sales role.
  • Experience working with engineered systems such as pressure vessels, filtration units, Gas turbines, skid-mounted packages or similar Oil & Gas or Energy products
  • Exposure to customers within energy, oil & gas, or process sectors (e.g., EPCs or OEMs).
  • The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specs.

You'll also need to:

  • Be commercially minded, with a consultative sales style.
  • Be comfortable producing your own concept designs and bid documents.
  • Enjoy working closely with engineering teams on project delivery.
  • Have the confidence to communicate clearly and professionally with technical buyers and engineers.
  • Hold a valid UK driving licence and be willing to travel as required.

The Benefits

For this Key Account Manager role, the following benefits are on offer:

  • Profit-related bonus
  • Electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme
  • 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays
  • Hybrid working available (1–2 days from home)
  • International travel opportunities

If you're a commercially focused engineer or account manager looking to join a progressive business in the heart of the transitional energy sector, then this could be the ideal next step in your career.
