We are looking for a motivated and experienced Key Account Manager to join our Performance Materials team!

Responsibilities
  • Improve Univar’s position within each account using consultative and in-depth selling at all levels within the account.
  • Prospect for new business by conducting sales calls to grow the size of the territory actively.
  • Focus on customer retention and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Provide customer technical support and consultant services to increase our overall value to the customer.
  • Maintain a clear, updated view of your sales pipeline.
  • Set pricing and service levels, as well as maintain and coordinate customer quotations or provide necessary information to allow local branches to do so.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing and Operations to ensure proper inventory levels.
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety, both personal and of your colleagues.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience managing accounts in the Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants and Elastomers (raw chemicals) industry. This role will also manage some accounts for the Lubricants and Metal Working Fluids business.
  • Sales experience in manufacturing, distribution, industrial, or chemical industry sales is preferred.
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability as both an effective leader and teammate.
  • Deep understanding of business, financials, products/services, the market or the needs/challenges of assigned accounts.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to develop strong, successful business relationships with customers and internal teammates.
  • Excellent digital literacy, including MS Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint as well as CRM platforms such as Salesforce.com.
  • Strong business acumen, including an understanding of the business relationship between manufacturers, distributors, and end-users.

This is a home-based opportunity. Covered territory: South of the UK. Preference for candidates in the area.
