Job description
Overview

Are you based in or around the Leeds area? Do you have experience in sales or account management? Jewson, a leading building materials distributor, is on the hunt for a Key Account Manager who\'s as passionate about great service as we are.

The Key Account Manager will be responsible for managing relationships of our large key accounts.

Location: National Sales Office, Gibraltar Island Rd, Old Mill Business Park, Leeds, LS10.

Job Purpose

To provide day-to-day operational support for large key customers, managing estimates, orders, and deliveries. Acting as the key contact for site teams, this role works across the Branch network to ensure materials are delivered accurately and on time, while building strong relationships, identifying opportunities, and actively supporting the growth of sales across assigned accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and grow our large key accounts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customer procurement teams, Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers and Site Agents.
  • Be proactive, responsive, and visible, including regular site visits and customer check-ins.
  • Follow up and requote projects as required to meet or exceed agreed revenue, margin, and growth targets across assigned customer base.
  • Manage the full order lifecycle — inputting orders, monitoring fulfilment, and ensuring timely and complete deliveries in collaboration with internal branches and logistics teams.
  • Source non-standard or bespoke product requirements in line with customer needs and timelines. Liaise with suppliers to confirm availability, pricing, and delivery dates.
  • Work closely with branches to ensure customer orders are prioritised, accurate, and aligned to site schedules and specific delivery requirements.
  • Act as the day-to-day operational contact for allocated housebuilder sites, managing build progress and ensuring the right materials arrive at the right time and in the right quantities.
  • Provide specification & product data, including data sheets as required.
Experience Required
  • Experience within a sales, account management or customer support role - ideally within builders’ merchant, supplier, or construction-related role.
  • Commercial and pricing awareness of margins, rebates, delivery charges, and credit processes.
  • Clear and professional communicator across phone, email, and in-person; able to build relationships with customers at all levels, local branches, suppliers and regional support teams.
  • Project coordination, prioritisation and multitasking skills.
  • Full UK Driving licence.
