Job description

The role reports to the Sales Director for UK & Ireland Ready Meals & Fresh Meat.

As Key Account Manager, you will have close interaction with other Key Account Managers, Retail, and Business Support teams in the UK, and liaise with Group teams including ESG, External Affairs, and MarCom. Effective communication with all stakeholders is essential to expand the company's message and build diverse relationships. You will manage existing accounts, drive new business, and maintain a collaborative relationship with Key Account Managers and the Sales Director. Resilience and fortitude are required to face challenges, ensure smooth project execution, and communicate clearly with teams. As an integral team member, lead by example and work closely with key stakeholders across all areas.

External Responsibilities:

  • Grow sales & profit by expanding product range and upselling where possible.
  • Collaborate to convert sales strategy into new business and growth.
  • Identify current and future market opportunities.
  • Work within business capabilities, adhering to lead times and production constraints.
  • Develop relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Manage a portfolio of existing customers, including new product development (NPD).
  • Present sales documentation monthly as per agreed formats and timelines.
  • Develop customer relations through regular meetings and face-to-face interactions.
  • Drive margin improvement across the portfolio.
  • Ensure all business is beneficial and profitable for manufacturing.
  • Address customer issues effectively, reaching mutually agreeable solutions.
  • Challenge customer ideas constructively, offering alternatives aligned with company capabilities and customer needs.
  • Align with customers' and retailers' sustainability goals, promote Faerch's circularity message, and influence decision-making.
  • Stay updated on market trends related to circularity, carbon reduction, lifecycle analysis, and total cost of ownership to identify new opportunities.
  • Manage key projects from inception to delivery.

Internal Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Group External Affairs and ESG teams on objectives and sustainability plans, supporting customers' goals.
  • Work with NPD and Group Product Management to understand development roadmaps and benefits.
  • Ensure comprehensive understanding of projects including CapEx, pricing, and margins.
  • Exhibit strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Execute duties professionally internally and externally.
  • Maintain strong commercial knowledge to align projects with company expectations.
  • Utilize Microsoft 365 effectively for strategic planning, project management, and presentations.
  • Pay high attention to detail in project planning and management.
  • Be adaptable to change, working with new systems, people, and processes.
  • Travel as required to customers and Faerch sites.
  • Hold a valid full driving license.
