Qualifications

Job Title: Kannon Franchise Pricing Strategic Analytics - Quantitative Strategist

Location: London

Group Strategic Analytics (GSA) is part of Group Chief Operating Office (COO) and acts as the bridge between the Bank's businesses and infrastructure functions to help deliver efficiency, control, and transformation goals. You will join the Kannon Franchise Pricing Strat team, part of GSA, across all asset classes, combining quantitative analytics, modelling, pricing and risk management with system architecture and programming expertise. The primary output is a scalable and flexible Front Office pricing and risk management system with a consistent interface to the Middle Office and Back Office. The role focuses on electronic trading of rates products, especially interest rate swaps, repo and bonds. You will work closely with engineers, quants and traders to deliver high performance trading applications, using Java and modern software development practices to create high-quality systems that can be iterated on rapidly and safely.

Your key responsibilities
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the business on further build-out of the eTrading platform.
  • Implement and deliver new business functions and non-functional platform improvements.
  • Develop functional and non-functional requirements in close collaboration with other engineers, quants and traders.
  • Participate in code reviews as both an author and a reviewer.
  • Actively improve team software development processes.
Your skills and experience
  • Excellent core Java programming skills, ideally in a front office electronic trading environment.
  • Good understanding of cash and derivative rates and credit products.
  • Understanding of trading systems, preferably in an algo trading context.
  • Demonstrable technical skills in any of the following: C++, Python, KDB, messaging middleware and market data.
  • Experience of modern patterns for continuous delivery of software.
  • A solid grounding in computer engineering principles, preferably with a technical degree.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across multiple teams and functions while prioritising against tight deadlines.
