Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a licensed teacher to join our South Side classrooms. You will plan lessons, deliver instruction, monitor student progress, and maintain accurate records.

You will communicate with parents, participate in staff meetings, and support school programs while upholding CPS policies. A state teaching certificate issued by the Illinois State Board of Education is required.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of student teaching requirements and coursework to obtain the teaching certificate issued by the Illinois State Board of Education.
• Ability to communicate effectively with parents and guardians and to work with diverse student populations.
• Knowledge of effective instructional strategies and classroom management.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver instruction with clear objectives and write lesson plans.
• Maintain attendance records and progress reports for students.
• Communicate with parents/guardians regarding progress, attendance, and behavior.
• Participate in in-service meetings and professional staff meetings.
• Support school programs and adhere to the Uniform Discipline Code.
