Description:

Blue Point is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill the role of an Elementary Physical Education Teacher. This unique role builds relationships with students in every classroom across every grade in the building. This teacher supports the physical, social, emotional, and wellness development of students. Qualified candidates should be highly student-centered, organized, collaborative, creative, and flexible. This candidate will play a key role in creating a sense of belonging for students in the gym and in the school community.

Qualifications:
  • Maine K-12 Certification 510 & 520 (or be eligible for certification)
  • A deep understanding of student developmental stages of this grade span and effective supports and interventions for learning
  • A strong understanding of evidence-based practices for instruction and assessment within the content area
  • Experience with incorporating social emotional learning into lessons and daily practice
  • Commitment to teaching and learning with attention to DEIJ
  • Ability to adapt skills and make accommodations so all kids experience success in the Physical Education Program.
