Job Summary

We’re looking for a Junior USV Operations Technician with hands-on experience in the maritime or marine engineering industry, who is eager to build a long-term career in marine technology. This role is ideal for someone with a practical background in marine operations, vessel maintenance, or offshore systems who wants to expand into the world of autonomous marine vehicles.

You’ll support our engineering team in launching, operating, and maintaining our USVs, with full training provided to build your skills in autonomy, data systems, and remote operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation, launch, and recovery of USVs for field operations
• Support daily operations and monitoring of autonomous surface vessels
• Conduct routine maintenance and assist in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, or system issues
• Learn to operate marine sensors, navigation systems, and control software
• Participate in mission planning and post-mission evaluations
• Ensure safety procedures and operational protocols are followed during deployments
• Keep accurate maintenance logs and contribute to readiness checklists
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and operators

What We’re Looking For

• Hands-on experience in the maritime, offshore, or marine engineering industry (e.g., working with boats, vessels, marine systems, ROVs, or similar)
• A strong practical skill set and willingness to learn technical systems
• A drive to progress and grow in a rapidly evolving sector
• Good problem-solving skills and a team-focused attitude
• Ability to work outdoors and occasionally in offshore/remote environments
• Valid UK work authorisation

Training Provided In:

• USV systems and remote vehicle operations
• Navigation and autonomy software
• Sensor integration and ocean data workflows
• Safety procedures and field readiness

Nice to Have (but not essential):

• Experience with marine autonomy, surveying, or sensor systems
• Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, or marine data platforms
• Maritime safety or offshore certifications
