Salary: £49,909 a year plus on-call enhancements

We are seeking an enthusiastic SHO with an interest in Trauma & Orthopaedics to join our team. Our facility includes a purpose-built Trauma Unit and Elective Orthopaedic ward, staffed by 13 Consultants and an Associate Specialist, each with their own areas of expertise. We are a busy, dynamic unit.

Main duties of the job

This is a fixed-term appointment for one year within Trauma and Orthopaedics. The appointee will participate in the cross-covered on-call rota with the ENT department. Applicants must be fully registered practitioners with an interest in medical education.

Job responsibilities

The successful candidate will have opportunities to develop orthopaedic skills, attend local teaching sessions, and engage in teaching, audit, and research projects. The role involves working as part of a surgical rota supporting the Hospital at Night service, covering trauma and orthopaedics during day and night shifts, with cross-covering responsibilities with ENT. Out-of-hours support includes non-resident surgical and ENT registrars, a T&O registrar, Consultants, and the Hospital at Night team.
