Job description

Job Title – Junior Travel Consultant – Fluent French

Job Location – London

Salary – £19K – £24k basic

My client is looking for an office junior that has a year’s experience in the travel sector or has just finished their travel studies at university.

You must be French speaking and have an interest in winning new business by producing quality, competitive quotations in response to clients’ travel requirements.

In this role, it will be your responsibility to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all suppliers, service providers, and external sales agents.

You must also develop and maintain excellent working relationships with clients and have total responsibility for all their confirmed travel plans.

We need you to generate incremental revenue streams by cross-selling and upselling from the existing customer base.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all new requests are qualified.
  • Produce good quality quotations.
  • Follow up all quotations consistently to maximize conversion rates.
  • Acknowledge confirmations to clients.
  • Ensure that all service providers are kept informed of all changes and amendments.
  • Meet all targets.
  • Negotiate the best possible rates with suppliers.
  • Develop a close relationship with the Purchasing department.

Skills required:

  • Fluency in French & English.
  • Majoring in Business or Tourism discipline.
  • A positive attitude with the drive and work ethic to meet targets.
  • Able to “think outside the box.”
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication/relationship-building and analytical skills.
  • Able to work independently and self-directed.
  • Excellent time-management skills.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
