Trainee Traffic Maintenance Engineer Oxfordshire, United Kingdom (On-site)

Reporting into the Contract Manager, the Trainee Traffic Maintenance Engineer will join a talented team of Traffic Signals specialists in the Oxfordshire region. Due to growth and demand from our customer(s), we are in a position to grow our Traffic team in this region.

What you’ll do:

As a Trainee Traffic Maintenance Engineer, you will work closely with an experienced Traffic Engineer to troubleshoot, fix, maintain, and test a range of Traffic Signals / Traffic Lights and electrical equipment in and around Oxfordshire.

Training isn’t in a classroom; it is a healthy mix of ‘on the job’ learning, providing you with an opportunity to work towards an NVQ in Electrical Installations and Sector-based certifications such as ECS and the National Highways Sector Scheme (NHSS) Chapter 8.

Who you are:

You will have an interest in troubleshooting, fixing, testing, and maintaining Electrical equipment, with some exposure to electrical work—whether through outdoor lighting, CCTV, controllers, detection boxes, telecommunications/radio equipment, or related college courses/diplomas.

Key Requirements:

• Motivation and willingness to learn on the job and online
• Previous experience of Electrical testing, maintenance, fixing, or installing, or a holder of an Electrical course/diploma or similar
• Ability to problem-solve and think creatively, work through fault-finding instructions
• Full UK Driving Licence and residence in Oxfordshire
• Willingness to undertake Drugs & Alcohol testing for compliance
