Trainee Traffic Maintenance Engineer (On-site) – Oxfordshire, United Kingdom

Reporting to the Contract Manager, the Trainee Traffic Maintenance Engineer will collaborate with Traffic Signal specialists in Oxfordshire. Due to growth, we are expanding our Traffic team in this region.

What you’ll do:

As a Trainee Traffic Maintenance Engineer, you will work alongside experienced Traffic Engineers to troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and test Traffic Signals, Traffic Lights, and related electrical equipment in Oxfordshire. Training involves a mix of on-the-job learning and online courses, leading to an NVQ in Electrical Installations and certifications such as ECS and NHSS Chapter 8.

Who you are:

You should have an interest in electrical troubleshooting, fixing, testing, and maintenance, with some exposure to electrical work, such as outdoor lighting, CCTV, controllers, detection systems, or related coursework or diploma.

Key Requirements:
  • Motivation and willingness to learn on the job and online
  • Experience in electrical testing, maintenance, or installation, or relevant coursework/diploma
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to think outside the box
  • Full UK Driving Licence and residence in Oxfordshire
  • Willingness to undertake Drugs & Alcohol testing
