Traffic Maintenance Engineer Trainee (Oxfordshire, United Kingdom, On-site)

Join our Engineering Team at Telent to innovate and drive solutions, working closely with technical experts who are proud of their impactful work. Be part of a high-performing team maintaining the nation's critical infrastructure 24/7.

Reporting to the Contract Manager, the Trainee Traffic Maintenance Engineer will join a team of Traffic Signals specialists in Oxfordshire. Due to growth, we are expanding our Traffic team in this region.

What you’ll do:

You will work with experienced Traffic Engineers to troubleshoot, fix, maintain, and test Traffic Signals, Traffic Lights, and related electrical equipment around Oxfordshire.

Training involves on-the-job learning, aiming to achieve an NVQ in Electrical Installations and certifications like ECS and NHSS Chapter 8.

Who you are:

You are interested in electrical troubleshooting, fixing, testing, and maintenance, with some exposure to electrical work through courses or experience.

Key Requirements:

  • Motivated and eager to learn both on-site and online
  • Experience in electrical testing, maintenance, or installation, or relevant qualifications
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to follow fault-finding instructions
  • Full UK Driving Licence and residence in Oxfordshire
  • Willing to undertake Drugs & Alcohol testing
