Position: Trainee Traffic Maintenance Engineer

Location: Oxfordshire, United Kingdom (On-site)

Join our Engineering Team at Telent, where you'll be empowered to innovate and collaborate with technical experts. Be part of a high-performing team working on complex, critical infrastructure to keep the nation's networks connected and protected 24/7.

Reporting to the Contract Manager, the Trainee Traffic Maintenance Engineer will join a team of Traffic Signals specialists in Oxfordshire. Due to growth, we are expanding our Traffic team in this region.

What you’ll do:

  • Work alongside experienced Traffic Engineers to troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and test Traffic Signals, Traffic Lights, and related electrical equipment in Oxfordshire.
  • Participate in a practical training program that combines on-the-job learning with online modules, working towards an NVQ in Electrical Installations and certifications like ECS and NHSS Chapter 8.

Who you are:

  • Interested in electrical troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance, with some exposure to electrical systems such as outdoor lighting, CCTV, controllers, detection boxes, or telecommunications.
  • Possess or be working towards an electrical qualification or diploma.
  • Motivated and eager to learn through practical experience and online learning.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to resolve faults.
  • Hold a full UK driving license and reside in Oxfordshire.
  • Willing to undertake a Drugs & Alcohol test for compliance.
