M-KOPA's Threat Intelligence team, within the Security department, identifies and assesses threats against our products, business, and personnel. The team has developed a custom analysis platform instead of standard tools — Recorded Futures. By consuming multiple intelligence sources, we aim to provide real-time information to our Fraud, Application Security, and Management teams using Azure Microservices.

Your role involves acting as a developer, primarily using Python, with elements of Threat Hunting. This includes building automated tools to monitor the Internet and identifying emerging threats.

You're excited about this opportunity because:

  • You will create, build, and enhance a bespoke Threat Intelligence platform, exceeding the capabilities of most Threat Intelligence teams.
  • You will identify new threats against M-KOPA, our products, and employees.
  • You will learn about development best practices, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Deployment processes.
  • You will gain knowledge of hardware hacking, web application hacking, and malware attacks.
  • You will analyze cyber threat alerts and communicate findings to relevant teams.
  • You will perform trend analysis and establish reporting mechanisms for cyber defense.
  • You will develop and deliver threat alerts, reports, and case studies to stakeholders.
  • You will coordinate across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • You will monitor external data sources to stay updated on cyber threats and provide mitigation recommendations.
  • You will review incoming intelligence reports and collection plans.

We're excited about you because you have experience with:

  • Moderate experience with Python programming or Python development knowledge.
  • Some familiarity with Microsoft Azure or cloud microservice architectures.
  • Understanding of modern development practices, CI/CD.
  • Knowledge of Threat Intelligence principles.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux command lines.

Benefits - What's in it for you!

  • Participation in Application and Information Security Red Team operations.
  • Opportunities for international travel for conferences and training.
  • Annual Learning and Development Fund: $1,200 allowance for learning and development, prorated in the first year.
  • Home Office Setup: Pre-approved equipment up to $1,000 after signing the offer.
  • On-site retreats and trips to operational markets.
