About the Team

The GSMA Innovation Fund team was established in March 2020 and is responsible for planning and executing all Innovation Fund rounds on behalf of the GSMA Mobile for Development (M4D) programme. Leveraging 10 years of M4D experience, the team manages all rounds from design to grantee selection to grant completion and post grant follow-up, collaborating with relevant subject matter experts within GSMA. The mission is to support local entrepreneurship and digital innovation through grant funding and technical assistance. The team is diverse and based in the UK, Kenya, Indonesia, and Pakistan.

About the Role

The role reports to the Operations Manager and Senior Operations Manager and is key to ensuring the development of the new grant management platform (Fluxx) to effectively oversee multiple simultaneous funding rounds. You will serve as a point of contact for the platform supplier and collaborate with the GSMA IT and operations teams to resolve issues and customize the platform.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading the development and enhancement of the grant management platform, including new functionalities and process improvements.
• Overseeing active funding rounds on the platform and identifying risks and challenges faced by grantees.
• Managing risks and issues from the platform, escalating as needed, and supporting resolution and mitigation strategies.
• Managing relationships with the platform supplier to ensure timely and quality delivery.
• Documenting changes and ensuring process adoption across teams.
• Exploring integrations with GSMA IT systems.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• IT and platform development skills, preferably in Fluxx.
• Experience managing grant management or similar IT platforms.
• Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong escalation and stakeholder management skills.
• Emotional intelligence and influencing skills.
• Ability to foster cross-departmental collaboration and handle feedback effectively.
• Experience working in international and cross-cultural environments.
