About the Role

YDS Group- the team behind Smile White and Yorkshire Dental Suite - is looking for a proactive and motivated Junior Systems Administrator to join our expanding IT team in Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their IT career who’s eager to develop hands-on technical experience within a modern, fast-paced, and supportive environment.

As a Junior Systems Administrator, you’ll be an essential part of our growing business, supporting day-to-day IT operations, maintaining infrastructure, and contributing to exciting projects. With our rapid growth, there’s plenty of room for progression as we build out a strong internal tech team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain Microsoft 365 services (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, Azure AD).
  • Support Windows 10/11 desktops and laptops, resolving software and hardware issues.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot PCs, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Perform basic network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, LAN/WLAN, DNS, DHCP).
  • Monitor backups, apply security patches, and manage updates.
  • Provide end-user support and deliver training across the business.
  • Assist with IT projects including upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and service providers.
  • Travel to other company sites when needed (Full UK driving licence required).

Skills & Experience Required

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 admin tools.
  • Proficiency with Windows 10/11.
  • Experience with hardware support and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WLAN.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a self-starter mindset.
  • Clear, confident communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable (Nice to Have)

  • VLAN configuration and management experience.
  • Basic PowerShell scripting for automation.
  • Experience managing Group Policy within Active Directory.
  • Exposure to Azure or other cloud services.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices.
