Job summary

Mactech Energy Group is seeking a Junior Surveyor to assist the Surveyor in field work and to perform on-site measurements and instrument operation. The role involves supporting survey operations on site and handling on-the-spot data capture.

You will process raw data, prepare computations for the Surveyor, and contribute to surveillance reports under the guidance of the Survey Team Manager. This is a hands-on, field-focused position.

Qualifications

• Experience in a project team environment is preferred.
• Able to work under pressure and meet schedules.
• Basic survey data processing and quality checks.
• Knowledge of Leica survey instruments.

Job description

The Junior Surveyor is primarily responsible for assisting the Surveyor in survey field work and key activities include:

• Preparation of measurements on site
• Operation of survey instruments
• Processing of raw data
• Preparation of computation to provide results to the Surveyor

Principal Accountabilities

• Take instruction from the Surveyor to support a range of classic survey operations.
• Able to operate survey instruments to support activities on site.
• Perform basic quality checks to ensure that survey work is carried out in accordance with schedule and quality.
• Understand what specifications and documents are applicable to the activities and be aware of them.
• Write the surveillance reports and technical documents to be approved by the Survey Team Manager.

• Ability to work in a project team environment and promote teamwork through effective communication
• Ability to be flexible in their approach, prioritise work and remain resilient and focussed when under pressure
• General profession skills such as accuracy, tenacity, diplomacy and results orientation
• Basic survey technics knowledge:
• Use of instruments (mainly Leica on site) such as Total station, Digital level, Scanner, GPS (rover and static)
• Survey data basic processing and basic quality checking
• Basic knowledge of Survey data processing

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience in a large industrial/project environment would be advantageous
