Job summary

A food manufacturing company is looking for a Junior Supply Chain Coordinator to optimize production schedules and collaborate with various teams to ensure efficiency. Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience in production scheduling, strong Excel skills, and preferably some background in food manufacturing. This role involves close interaction with the Operations and Purchasing teams to meet production demands.

Qualifications

  • 2 years recent experience in a production scheduling and/or material planner role.
  • Ability to plan and operate effectively in a high-volume environment.
  • Food manufacturing experience is advantageous.

Job description

Vickerstock are working in partnership with an established food manufacturingbusiness on the appointment of a Supply Chain Coordinator.


As the Junior Supply Chain Coordinator, a key focus of your job among others will be to collaborate with the Production Manager to optimise capacity, adjust schedules based on demand changes, and minimise downtime.

In your new role:

  • Develop and maintain detailed production schedules aligned with sales forecasts, customer orders, and inventory targets.
  • Coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly production plans with the production team to ensure alignment with demand requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Operations/Production Manager to optimise capacity, adjust schedules based on demand changes, and minimise downtime.
  • Monitor and update production schedules based on equipment maintenance, raw material availability, and workforce capacity.
  • Work closely with Sales and Operations teams to manage lead times and ensure on-time delivery to customers.
  • Coordinate with the Purchasing team to ensure timely procurement of raw materials in line with production requirements and supplier lead times.
  • Implement stock rotation principles (FIFO/LIFO) to maintain inventory quality and reduce waste or product expiration.
  • Conduct regular stock audits and cycle counts, addressing discrepancies to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Analyse stock levels, re-order points, and safety stock to adjust inventory strategies based on production needs and market trends.


What you will need to succeed:

  • 2 year's recent experience in a production scheduling and/or material planner role
  • Food manufacturing experience is advantageous
  • Ability to plan and operate effectively in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong Excel skills with past experience using an ERP/MRP.
