Job summary

Job summary

We are seeking to recruit For enthusiastic and hard working doctors to join our Emergency Departments as a Junior Specialty doctor at MMUH. These posts will be six months to one year fixed term posts in the first with the possibility of longer term opportunities within the Trust subject to performance and progress. These posts would be at aimed at junior grade CT/ST 1-2 level and whilst not approved training posts we would mirror the training opportunities to those given to training post holders.

Post may close early if enough suitable applications are received

Main duties of the job

The JSD EM posts will allow you to consolidate your experience in a supportive ED environment, giving you wide ranging clinical exposure and training in a progressive Trust that has won numerous national and local awards. We would be keen to work with successful applicants and help you continue to build your Emergency Medicine Career. We envisage that the JSD would act as a stepping stone into specialty training and we would look to encourage and fully support successful completion of Emergency Medicine exams.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Primary medical qualification (MBBS/MBBCH) or equivalent.
  • ALS
  • ALS, ATLS or APLS
  • MRCEM PART A OR MRCS PART A OR MRCP PART1
Registration
  • Must possess full GMC registration
Management and Administrative Experience
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively
Experience
  • Recent acute hospital experience at F2 level, or equivalent
  • Experience at ST1 or equivalent level
  • FACD achieved
Personal Attributes
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Committed to patient care
  • Committed to training
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, relatives, GPs, A&E staff and other support staff
  • Ability to work full shift system
