Job Details:

Title: Junior Sous Chef

Department: Events Kitchen

Inspiration & Support from: Sous Chef and Head Chef for Events

Contract: 48-hour week, £45,600 per annum

Purpose: Assist the Sous Chef in managing the kitchen operations, maintaining standards, supervising staff, coordinating training, motivating team, and preparing food according to business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Interact with individuals outside the hotel
  • Coordinate with Food & Beverage departments
  • Handle payroll and holiday planning
  • Assist in maintaining quality and presentation of food
  • Contribute to cost control and standards implementation
  • Assist with personnel matters and departmental training
  • Deputise for the Executive Chef when needed
  • Oversee food outlets in the Sous Chef's absence
  • Maintain health & hygiene standards
  • Promote quality in all food areas
  • Ensure top-quality room service and colleagues' canteen food
  • Exceed guest expectations daily
  • Manage daily kitchen operations and strive for high quality
