Junior Software Support Engineer

  • Job Type: Full-time.
  • Location: Full Time onsite- Chessington, Surrey.
  • Day Rate: £115 Per Day. Temp to perm after 3-6 months.

We are seeking a Junior Software Support Engineer to join our clients incident management team. This role involves providing remote software support for ticket vending machines across various locations, including Scotland. This position is ideal for a graduate with a computer science background or a school leaver who has a keen interest in technology and software support.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Remotely connect to ticket vending machines to diagnose and resolve software issues.
  • Address common problems such as machines not vending tickets by applying software patches and fixes.
  • Work within an incident management framework, using tools like Salesforce to manage and track issues.
  • Collaborate with a team to share findings and solutions to enhance overall system performance.
  • Ensure all software interventions are logged and documented for future reference.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Understanding of basic networking concepts, including IP addresses (both static and dynamic).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot software issues.
  • Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Familiarity with incident management processes and remote support tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
