Better Placed is seeking a Junior Software Engineer in Manchester to join a fast-growing ecommerce tech team. You’ll work on backend services with Node.js/TypeScript, building APIs and integrations across ecommerce platforms, payments and order management.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of commercial software development experience.
• Strong grounding in Node.js and API/backend development.
• Familiarity with SQL or NoSQL databases and Git.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services using Node.js/TypeScript.
• Develop REST/GraphQL APIs and integrate third-party services.
• Work across systems supporting ecommerce, payments, orders, inventory and fulfilment.
• Integrate with Shopify and other operational platforms.
• Work with AWS/serverless technologies and data flows.
