Junior Embedded Firmware/Software Engineer

Hybrid role with 2 days working from home

Salary from £35-45,000 depending on experience

We're building a brand-new embedded team for our global manufacturing client in Central Scotland. We're looking for a Junior Embedded Firmware/Software Engineer to help shape the future of their new product line. You will see your work come to life on-site, from design and development to testing and manufacturing. The on-site testing lab and production lines mean you'll witness your firmware powering real, physical products from concept to final build.

If you have at least one year's experience working with embedded firmware or systems in a hands-on role, and you're eager to learn from experienced engineers while working on real products, this role could be a great fit.

What you’ll be doing:

• Writing and debugging C code for embedded systems
• Testing and validating firmware on real hardware
• Supporting hardware bring-up and troubleshooting
• Collaborating with electronics engineers, testers, and software developers
• Contributing to Agile product development projects

What we’re looking for:

• A degree in Embedded Systems, Electronics, or a related field
• At least 1 year of industry experience in embedded systems or firmware
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)

Nice to have:

• Python skills for testing or automation
• Basic understanding of WiFi, BLE, or other communication protocols
• Exposure to RTOS or Linux-based systems

This is not a graduate role. We seek someone with real-world experience who wants to develop a long-term career in embedded systems.
