Nourish is not simply a technology company; we are a digital partner for the social and health care sector rooted in human connections, with the person being supported at its core. We Look For People Who Align With The Way We Work. If You Join Us, You Are Joining a Culture Defined By
You will join a full stack engineering team working in an Agile Scrum environment, delivering incrementally in sprints and taking part in sprint planning, stand ups and retrospectives together. Our stack spans MySQL and PostgreSQL for our databases, Ruby on Rails and Symfony on the backend, Vue.js on the web frontend and React Native for mobile, all managed through Git and GitHub. Our systems handle thousands of requests per minute across databases holding hundreds of millions of records, so scalability sits at the heart of how we design and build. This is a junior level opportunity: whether you have a computer science or related background, or you are a self‑taught coder with strong programming knowledge, we are more interested in your grounding in object‑oriented development and your appetite to learn than in years of industry experience.
You will be joining the Wellbeing team specifically. Within 3 months, we would expect you to have the capacity to contribute to the Wellbeing stack, the Better Care API, the Wellbeing Backend, and parts of the Wellbeing mobile app, working comfortably with JavaScript, TypeScript and Ruby (Ruby on Rails). Within 6 months, you would be contributing to the wider application stack individually, giving reasonably precise estimates, and well embedded into the Wellbeing team: taking part in planning discussions, giving informative code reviews to peers, and learning our deployment procedure.
