Job summary

2 Sisters Food Group, Wakefield Head Office, is hiring a Junior Software Developer to support a portfolio of bespoke internal applications and modern tech stacks including AI, Generative AI and Microsoft Azure.

The role suits a graduate or early-career developer with around 12 months of experience, eager to learn and grow in software development, and to collaborate with stakeholders across the business.

Qualifications

• Degree (2:1 or above) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence or a related discipline.
• Strong foundation in object-oriented programming, ideally using C# and .NET / ASP.NET Core.
• Experience building web applications through academic projects, internships, placements, personal projects or commercial experience.
• Understanding of SQL and relational databases, including writing and troubleshooting queries.
• Familiarity with application design, testing, debugging and writing clean, maintainable code.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Exposure to Microsoft Power Platform and Power Apps.

Responsibilities

• Support, maintain and enhance a portfolio of approximately 45 internally developed business applications.
• Work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to understand requirements and user needs.
• Deliver application upgrades, enhancements and modifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across existing software solutions.
• Assist with the integration of AI and Generative AI capabilities into current and future applications.
• Learn and apply software development best practices, coding standards and methodologies.
