Job Title: Junior Social Video Producer

Location: London Bridge

Contract: Four weeks (with room to extend)

Your team: As an iconic, dynamic storyteller with a rich heritage and a global audience in the millions, The Sun is building out an exciting, video-focused strategy to engage new audiences, putting video at the heart of our journalism. We’re building a small, ambitious team that’s shaping what modern social journalism looks like – quick-thinking, personality-driven, and culturally fluent. Our goal is to tell stories that live and breathe where audiences already are: on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and beyond.

Your role: We’re looking for a Junior Social Video Producer who’s curious, confident on their phone camera, and has their finger firmly on the pulse of what’s trending online.

You’ll help brainstorm, film, edit and publish short-form videos that tap into the conversations people are already having – from entertainment and lifestyle to news and culture.

This is a hands-on, creative role where no two days are the same. You don’t need to be an expert editor; you just need a sharp eye, strong instincts, and a genuine love for storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Pitch and produce short-form video ideas that feel timely, relevant and scroll-stopping with our in-house talent.
• Film and edit videos using your phone, keeping everything fast, authentic and platform-ready.
• Write simple, engaging captions and on-screen headlines that tell the story clearly.
• Spot trends, sounds and formats that could inspire future videos.
• Support journalists with filming, interviews and day-to-day content capture.
• Publish videos directly to TikTok and Instagram, ensuring posts are accurate and on-brand.
• Keep an eye on performance and audience feedback to see what’s resonating.
• Collaborate closely with journalists and producers across the newsroom to shape ideas.
