Junior SOC Analyst

Location: Cheltenham

Please Note: Due to the nature of client work you will be undertaking, you will need to be willing to go through a Security Clearance process as part of this role, which requires 5+ years UK address history at the point of application.

In our team you will learn:

The role encompasses both monitoring and responding to alerts raised by various toolsets as part of an ongoing managed security monitoring service, coupled with analysing data sets gathered from Incident Response investigations and assisting Investigative Consultants to deliver positive investigative outcomes to our breach investigation consultancy engagements.


As a Junior SOC Analyst you will:

Be an integral part of our SOC team, responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security incidents. This entry-level position provides an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for cybersecurity to gain hands-on experience and grow within a dynamic and collaborative environment.


  1. Monitoring and responding to alerts.
  2. Escalating alerts where necessary.
  3. Proposing tuning requests.
  4. Producing reports.
  5. Maintaining awareness of the latest threats and vulnerabilities.

The following skills and experience are required for this role:
  1. A good understanding of computer networks, operating systems, software, hardware and security.
  2. An understanding of cyber security risks associated with various technologies and ways to manage them.
  3. A good working knowledge of various security technologies such as network and application firewalls, host intrusion prevention and antivirus.
  4. Any relevant academic or industry specific training.

  2. Knowledge of common attack vectors and malware types.
  3. Awareness of security tools and technologies.
  4. Basic understanding of incident response principles.
