Job summary

Carmichael UK is seeking a Junior Site Engineer to support civil engineering and infrastructure projects. You will assist with setting out, surveying, and maintaining QA/QC records on site, learning from experienced engineers to deliver work to programme.

The role is suitable for a Graduate Engineer or Assistant Site Engineer eager to gain hands-on site experience, with opportunities to progress within a busy construction environment on challenging projects.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Some site experience in civil engineering, infrastructure or construction preferred.
• Basic setting-out knowledge.
• Familiarity with surveying equipment such as Total Stations/GPS advantageous.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Keen to learn and develop within a site engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with setting out and surveying works.
• Using engineering drawings and specifications on site.
• Supporting QA/QC documentation and site records.
• Carrying out basic measurements and as-built surveys.
• Working closely with Site Engineers, Site Agents and subcontractors.
• Monitoring works to ensure they are completed to the required standard.
• Assisting with technical queries and day-to-day engineering duties.
• Supporting health and safety requirements across the site.
