We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, energetic, have excellent communication skills, evidence of leadership skills to help develop your managerial skills, be committed to providing and delivering high quality patient focused care to our Patients in Acute Specialist Medicine.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Ward Leader. You will be responsible for maintaining standards and quality in the day-to-day management of the ward, providing expert clinical support and supporting the development of the junior members of ward nursing team.
We are committed to staff development and education with all staff having access to a wide range of educational and development resources.
The candidates should have experience as a band 5 in a ward setting. Demonstrate the ability to positively lead a team of nurses. To be responsible for the development, teaching, appraisal and well- being of all staff, both trained and untrained. Managing complaints and working with the Ward Leader to ensure timely response.
Main duties of the job
To act as an expert for the care of a specified group of patients, providing effective leadership and acting as a positive role model.
To participate in benchmark and quality audits including Observation of Care. Ensuring that staff receive feedback on the results, and that where necessary action is taken to improve standards. Being a role model for your individual team creating a culture that support and en-powered staff to contribute to safe and effective care. Supporting staff in their development, skills and knowledge. Working and supporting students and new staff on the ward.
