Job description
Overview

The work-load throughout the department is varied and interesting with no two days the same. The successful candidate must be dynamic, possess excellent communication skills, and have a high sense of professionalism and a strong belief in the value of teamwork. We will develop your skills to ensure that you work to the highest of standards to provide safe and effective care.

Responsibilities
  • Be competent in all areas of the Emergency Department including triage, resus, majors, ambulance triage, rapid access majors, minor injuries (plastering, suturing, wound care).
  • As a Junior Sister/Charge Nurse, support the senior and junior team to meet patient needs through delivery of high-quality care.
  • Work as part of a large multidisciplinary team including the ED medical team, clinical practice educators safeguarding, mental health liaison team and clinical specialties.
  • Work clinically including unsocial hours and be able to independently take charge of all areas of the Emergency Department.
  • Assist the Team Leader with managing the team of nurses and ensuring they meet their potential.
  • As a Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse, operate across all areas including Children's ED to increase skill set and competency.
  • Take on link roles to drive change and improve standards.
Qualifications
  • RN (Adult)/RGN qualified with at least 2 years post-registration experience.
  • Commitment to progressing within the specialty as demonstrated in your professional portfolio.
