Job description

We are seeking dynamic, motivated, and flexible nurses with relevant Emergency Care experience and qualifications for a leadership role within our Emergency Department at St Richards Hospital.

Are you looking for an opportunity to grow both personally and professionally while empowering others to succeed?

The St Richards Emergency Department Senior Team is passionate about delivering high-quality and safe patient care. Join our expanding team and be part of a newly created paediatric department and developing urgent treatment centre.

We offer clear career development opportunities within the Emergency Care setting.

We welcome applications from those with a current UK NMC registration. Please note, if you have an overseas nursing qualification and require sponsorship, we are not currently hiring internationally qualified nurses directly.

Your responsibilities include supporting the senior leadership team in managing nurses, ensuring high standards of care and professional standards, managing the clinical area daily, and leading a specific area of practice as delegated by the Lead. You will also provide high standards of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care within the Emergency Department, communicate effectively with patients and families, and liaise with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.

To succeed, you should have excellent knowledge of adult and paediatric health needs, substantial ED experience, and extensive post-qualification experience. You will be responsible for a specific area during your duty span in the absence of senior staff.

UHSussex values diversity and inclusion, encouraging everyone to succeed and offering support networks and initiatives to foster a welcoming environment. We are committed to compassionate care for patients and staff, with extensive wellbeing programs and flexible working options to support work-life balance.

As a leader in healthcare research and a university trust, we prioritize learning, teaching, and training. We are dedicated to helping you grow and develop throughout your career, making a meaningful difference and feeling valued.

We look forward to your application and welcoming you to UHSx.
