Overview

To work as part of the A8 team to provide a safe, effective, efficient care environment for patients, relatives and their carers. This post is a full-time band 6 opportunity on the A8 Colorectal/Gen Surgical Ward, following the move to Midland Metropolitan University Hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Lead your own zone in respect of patient safety and professional standards, demonstrating clinical excellence and acting as a professional role model to junior staff.
  • Line manage a team of staff, undertake management duties and be responsible for the effective running and utilisation of the Ward.
  • Be available to provide information or clarification as required; contact the Recruiting Manager as part of the onboarding process if needed.
  • Support the Surgical Services Group at SWBH NHS Trust and contribute to high standards of patient care and experience.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Experience at Band 5/6 level within a surgical environment; ready for a challenge with excellent leadership skills.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality care and to the Trust values: Ambition, Respect and Compassion.
  • Willingness to work flexibly across the four partner Trusts if required to meet patient and service needs.
