Job description

As a junior sister/charge nurse in Parkside outpatients, you are expected to be an experienced nurse with previous outpatient experience.

You will spend the majority of your working week clinically in the department, with some administrative time allocated for delegated tasks, including off-duty and audits.

You will be responsible for supporting our junior team and assisting consultants with their clinics, including procedure lists. Ideally, you will also have experience in pre-operative clinics.

You should be well-organised with excellent communication and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Organisation of the department day-to-day operations
  2. Reviewing skill mix to ensure clinics are appropriately covered and capacity is maximised
  3. Completing off-duty
  4. Stock ordering
  5. Wound reviews (including removal of sutures/clips)
  6. Phlebotomy
  7. IM injections
  8. Cystoscopies and bladder instillations
  9. Hysteroscopy clinics
  10. Colposcopy clinics
  11. RFA procedures
  12. Assisting with minor procedures
  13. Undertaking face-to-face and telephone pre-operative assessments
