Job summary

Morgan Jones Recruitment is seeking a Junior Sheet Metal Operative for a permanent role in Staplehurst. 42.5 hours per week, DOE salary. You will join a specialist manufacturing environment and learn to manufacture and finish sheet metal components to customer specifications.

Training on hand and workshop tools, reading basic drawings, and on-the-job development with experienced engineers. No prior sheet metal experience required beyond a practical background; attitude and reliability are valued

Qualifications

• Some basic practical or manufacturing experience.
• Willing to learn and develop a skilled trade.
• Interest in engineering and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the manufacture and preparation of sheet metal components.
• Learn to use a range of hand and workshop tools.
• Support experienced Sheet Metal Workers with production activities.
• Learn to read and understand basic engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Carry out basic fabrication, assembly and finishing tasks.
• Measure and check components to ensure they meet requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Follow all Health & Safety and quality procedures.
• Support other areas of production when required.
• Develop your skills through on-the-job training.
