Job summary

Collecting Cars in London is seeking a Junior Consignment Specialist to source and price high-quality consignments for our platform. You will actively engage with customers by phone, build a robust sales pipeline, and coordinate photography and viewings.

Training and ongoing support accompany your progression in a dynamic automotive marketplace. You should be highly communicative, eager to learn, and capable of independent work as you help buyers and sellers across the UK navigate the auction

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in business, marketing, or related field (desirable).
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Outstanding organisational, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Impeccable communication skills, especially in pricing discussions.
• Strong business development capabilities.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Source, price, and present consignments for auction on Collecting Cars.
• Engage with buyers and sellers via phone and outreach to build a strong pipeline.
• Use Salesforce to convert prospects into Collecting Cars customers.
• Coordinate with consignments team on photography, viewings, and handover of auction details.
• Research market pricing and maintain knowledge of collector car trends.

We're expanding, and we're looking for a Junior Consignment Specialist to join us in the UK based out of our London office.

The Mission

In this foundational role, you will learn the core skills required to be a successful Consignment specialist at The Collecting Group. This role is focused on sourcing, pricing and presenting high quality consignments for auction on the Collecting Cars platform. Because this role involves significant outreach, you must be confident and highly comfortable communicating over the phone with both existing and new customers. To ensure your success and growth within the company, you will receive comprehensive training and ongoing support every step of the way.

The Gearbox

• Communicate effectively and ensure excellent levels of engagement and service
• Research value of collectable cars, analysing industry trends to ensure you are well versed and knowledgeable when speaking to potential Collecting Cars customers.
• Be on hand to respond to customers in a timely and efficient manner ensuring that the initial sales administration and customer service activities run smoothly during the start of the process
• Use Salesforce to convert prospects into Collecting Cars customers
• Engage in daily price negotiations, ensuring fair and accurate vehicle valuations while securing high quality leads
• Focus on building a strong consistent pipeline
• Build rapport with key stakeholders in the collector markets
• Maintain your technical knowledge by reviewing publications and establishing personal networks
• Being an ambassador for the business and making initial calls to introduce sellers to the process of selling with Collecting Cars
• Working with the wider team to arrange photography of cars
• Arranging requested viewings
• Handing over relevant details to the wider consignments team to manage auctions
• Research competitors' pricing and market success, as well as monitor cars advertised on other platforms

The Specs (What We'll Need From You)

• A degree or similar qualification in a complementary practice area such as business management or marketing is desirable. If you do not have a degree or similar formal qualification to an equivalent level, you must be able to demonstrate that you have gained similar experience and qualification through on-the-job training and experience
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
• Outstanding organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Keen interest in cars of all genres and eras
• Knowledge and experience of how the collector car market operates
• Impeccable communication skills with the ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively, especially when navigating pricing discussions
• Strong business development skills
• A self-starter who has the ability to work independently

Parsons Green, London. You'll be predominantly based here, our London HQ. You'll need full UK working rights for this position.
