Job summary

BMSL Group Ltd is seeking a Junior/Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a major construction programme in Bedford (MK43). The role is site-based with a salary of £35,000–£40,000 plus benefits and a permanent contract.

You'll support the Commercial Manager across procurement, subcontracts, cost control, valuations, reporting, variations and final accounts, gaining hands-on experience on a long‑term project.

Qualifications

• Strong numerical and analytical ability to support cost control and valuations.
• Good communication and relationship-building skills to work with site and commercial teams.
• Attention to detail and organisational skills for accurate records and reports.
• Experience in construction commercial processes and live project support is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist in valuations, cost reports, forecasts and commercial reviews.
• Monitor and control project costs and budgets.
• Support with variations, change control and final accounts.
• Maintain commercial records and project documentation.
• Assist subcontractor procurement, payments and accounts.
