Smart 4 EPC is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for a live data centre project near Luton/Dunstable. Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related built-environment discipline, ideally MRICS-accredited.
• 0–2 years' experience in quantity surveying or a commercial construction role (placement/internship considered).
• Strong numeracy and good working knowledge of Excel.
• Willingness to work towards MRICS / APC in due course.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the collation and input of cost data into project cost reports and trackers.
• Support the preparation of interim valuations and subcontractor payment applications.
• Help maintain up-to-date commercial records, including variation and change registers.
• Assist with take-offs and measurement of works from drawings and site records under supervision.
• Support the procurement team with administrative tasks during tendering, such as issuing enquiries and logging returns.
• Attend site to observe and record progress, supporting more senior surveyors with verification of works completed.
• File and organise commercial and contractual documentation in line with project protocols.
• Attend commercial meetings to take notes and follow up on actions.
• Undertake day-release study or professional development activities where applicable, working towards RICS accreditation.
