Job summary

Qualifications

Previous experience within carpentry, joinery or construction.
Some exposure to commercial or quantity surveying activities.
An understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
Good numerical and analytical ability.
Strong attention to detail.
Good communication skills.
A willingness to learn and develop into a fully competent QS.

Responsibilities

Assisting with the commercial management of projects.
Measuring and valuing works.
Preparing take-offs and reviewing drawings.
Assisting with project budgets and cost control.
Supporting valuations, variations and applications for payment.
Assisting with subcontractor and supplier management.
Reviewing costs against budgets.
Helping with tendering and estimating when required.
Supporting commercial reporting and project administration.
