Junior Quantity Surveyor Position

This opportunity is for a candidate interested in pursuing a 5-year degree course at Portsmouth University on a day release basis.

We are recruiting a Junior Quantity Surveyor for a private Quantity Surveying Consultancy based in Poole. The firm has over 40 years of experience, successfully handling projects across the UK, and is looking to expand its team with a new junior member.

The ideal candidate is a keen school leaver interested in Quantity Surveying and Construction, aiming to build a career in the field. Full financial support for an RICS-accredited Higher Education course and RICS APC support will be provided to help the candidate become Chartered.

The role involves working across various sectors, including marine work with the RNLI and local commercial projects like breweries, with some travel expected. Initially, the role will focus on training, shadowing, and supporting the team, with progression to a full Surveying role.

Position Responsibilities

1. Support Senior Quantity Surveyors
2. Prepare take-off reports
3. Value works and secure payments as per contract terms
4. Assist in estimating, cost planning, and scheduling
5. Follow all Health and Safety regulations

Candidate Requirements

• School leaver interested in construction
• Good communication skills
• Ambitious and eager to develop a career
• Reside near Poole and willing to travel
• Full driving license
