Job summary

A leading contractor is looking for a Junior Quantity Surveyor to manage various commercial and residential projects. This role requires 1-2 years’ experience with a main contractor and offers strong opportunities for growth in a dynamic work environment. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of quantity surveying, from cost analysis to project management.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience with a Main Contractor in the Building Sector in NI / ROI.
• Must have excellent communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Project is essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, negotiate and analyze costs for tenders and contracts.
• Manage and evaluate subcontractor works.
• Maintain and enhance effective working relationships.

Job Title – Junior Quantity Surveyor

Project – Commercial and Residential Projects

Job Location – Dundalk

Salary - £28K - £32K plus package

About the Company

Working with a Tier 1 Main Contractor who specialise in residential and commercial new builds as well as fit out and refurb projects.

Fantastic opportunity for a Junior Quantity Surveyor who has 1-2 years’ experience working with a Main Contractor in NI or ROI but is keen to learn and experience all aspects of Quantity Surveying with a reputable Tier 1 Contractor.

The Role

• Preparing, negotiating and analysing costs for tenders and contracts
• Ensure sub-contractors are pre-qualified in accordance with management systems
• Procurement of sub-contractors and preparation of sub-contractor order documentation
• Valuation of subcontractor works
• Assessing and certification of sub-contractor interim payments
• Preparation of Interim valuations and final account
• Managing and valuing variations
• Production of monthly Cost Value Reconciliation on contracts
• Establish, maintain and enhance effective working relationships
• Plan, allocate and evaluate work carried out by teams, individuals and yourself

What You Need

• Third level qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction management.
• 2 years’ experience with a Main Contractor in the Building Sector in NI / ROI
• Proficient in Microsoft excel and project.
• Driven Team player.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
