Job summary

Verelogic Ltd in Macclesfield is recruiting a Junior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial team across mechanical, electrical and building fabric projects. You will assist with financial and contractual management from tender through to final account, with a clear path toward increased responsibility and RICS status.

The role suits someone with 2–3 years in QS, strong numerical skills and a proactive, accurate approach.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years' experience in Quantity Surveying.
• Experience within construction, building services, MEP or a specialist subcontracting environment.
• A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction or Building Services.
• RICS membership, or enrolment and progress towards AssocRICS/MRICS.
• Experience preparing valuations, managing variations and reviewing subcontractor accounts.
• Strong numerical, analytical and commercial skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Confidence using Microsoft Excel and commercial systems.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work as part of a project team.

Responsibilities

• Supporting procurement and commercial management of subcontractors and suppliers.

Junior Quantity Surveyor

About the Role

We are looking for an ambitious Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with existing Quantity Surveying experience who is looking to develop their commercial career across a varied portfolio of mechanical, electrical and building fabric projects.

Working alongside experienced commercial and operational colleagues, you will support the financial and contractual management of projects from tender stage through to completion and final account.

As your experience and confidence develop, you will take on increasing commercial responsibility and greater ownership of your own projects, with a clear route for professional and salary progression as you work towards your RICS status.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

About You

We are looking for someone who is commercially aware, accurate, organised and proactive, with the confidence to work across project, commercial and operational teams.

Ideally, you will have:

• A minimum of 2 3 years' experience in Quantity Surveying
• Experience within construction, building services, MEP or a specialist subcontracting environment
• A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction or Building Services
• RICS membership, or formal enrolment and active progress towards AssocRICS or MRICS through a recognised pathway
• Experience preparing valuations, managing variations and reviewing subcontractor accounts
• Strong numerical, analytical and commercial skills, with excellent attention to detail
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Confidence using Microsoft Excel and commercial systems
• The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively as part of a project team

Experience or knowledge of mechanical, electrical and/or building fabric works would be advantageous. You do not need to be an expert across all three disciplines.

• A full UK driving licence and willingness to attend project sites

Salary & Career Progression

Professional development and progression through the RICS pathway is recognised within the salary structure:

• Working towards RICS / AssocRICS: Up to £45,000, dependent on experience
• AssocRICS: Up to £45,000, dependent on experience
• MRICS: Up to £55,000, dependent on experience

For candidates still working towards professional status, structured mentoring and support will be provided to help you progress towards RICS membership.
